Critters 2

Critters 2 is a puzzle game - on each level you must figure out how to get the key to rescue your trapped critter buddie. Your character can pick up and use the different objects he finds, but he only carries one at once. (Stupid critter! Put them in your pockets!) The puzzles are well designed and reasonably logical, and the game overall is well done. There's plenty of intro stuff to watch, the sounds are always appropriate and the graphics are good too. The earth might look like hundreds of potatoes but the critters are kinda cute when they walk along...
The puzzles in this game had three of us sitting round the computer screen arguing about what to try out next, but we still can't get past level three. Critters 2 is very hard, as your guy can hardly manage the jumps in each level and winning takes a great deal of coordination, timing and luck. (Try guiding a homing missile into things without it catching you up..) You don't get a password until level four, and one hit makes you die and restart the current level from scratch. I imagine many people must download this game and never get past the first level.
The author needs to address the difficulty and lack of passwords in this game, and get rid of that silly mouse pointer you can only move with the arrow keys. Apart from these problems, Critters 2 is an addictive and rewarding game that will keep you puzzling for hours.
